Banacha 2, 02--097 Warszawa, Poland e--mail: przemek@mimuw.edu.pl Abstract: Trigonometric splines are introduced as a tool for description of a smooth surface in a neighbourhood of a common corner of patches being the surface components. This description, developed for the case of curvature continuity, significantly narrows the gap between the necessary and known sufficient conditions of compatibility of partial derivatives.
